Fare-thee-well dear mother

We sang, we kissed, we gently rubbed noses and we held hands, and she offered spontaneous smiles of sweet contentment.  And then I said goodbye.

  1. Such loving fortune. - Jan

  2. Indeed, Jan. Many times I thought of both you and Ken while in Maryland with my precious mother. While there, I heard myself say to a friend, "I'm hanging on by thread." Later that day I thought back on my words and was comforted by the truth in them.

One blessing of this long goodbye is that I am not holding on with tight fists. Little by little, I'm letting her go.

  3. Not easy, letting go. Sending love and hugs, Ginny
